Irvine, CA - Vinotemp International has announced that the United States District Court for the Central District of California has granted partial summary judgment in its favor in a patent infringement lawsuit. Chief Judge Audrey B. Collins issued a detailed order explaining why Vinotemp did not infringe U.S. Patent No. 6,991,117, which is owned by Wine Master Cellars. Judge Collins' order stated that all of Wine Master's arguments supporting its claim of patent infringement are "meritless."
"It is exciting to see justice prevail," states India Hynes, president of Vinotemp International. "Patent litigation is a long and often arduous process. We are thrilled to be moving forward and to continue offering quality, patented, metal wire wine racking through our affiliate, Epicureanist."
Vinotemp International was awarded a patent in February 2011 – U.S. Patent No. 7,882,967 – for its metal wine racks, which are now available through Epicureanist.
