KBDN Offers Free Webinar, CEU Credit

Kitchen & Bath Design News and Jenn-Air are sponsoring the Tuesday, May 7, webinar “Problem-Solving Kitchens.” This webinar will be the first of four to explore kitchen design trends, specifications, ventilation and emerging technology. The other three webinars will be presented in June, September and November, with program details and invitations being sent via e-mail closer to event dates.

The “Problem-Solving Kitchens” webinar will cover how to match kitchen design with generational needs and preferences, including the multi-generational family. The program will identify the major design preferences and buying patterns of Generation Y, Generation X, Trailing Edge Baby Boomers, Leading Edge Baby Boomers and Senior Clients. A virtual tour of kitchens created for the Kitchens.com Sweepstakes will “pair” the rooms with the different generations to show why a design may be more appropriate for a specific generational group.

This webinar includes CEU credits of 0.1 from NKBA, IDCEC and AIA. The learning objectives for the program include describing generational lifestyle differences, explaining how new appliance technology and ergonomic data impact appliance specifications and placement and creating safe kitchen environments that employ universal design principles.

The two presenters for the webinar will be Ellen Cheever and Julia Johnston. Ellen Cheaver, CMKBD, ASID, CAPS and Ellen Cheever and Associates, is widely considered the nation’s premier kitchen and bath design authority and a widely respected educator. Julia Johnston, CKD, CAPS and Owner of Kitchens for Cooking, works with individuals, architects and contractors to design new kitchens and solve existing kitchen design problems within her business.

The Tuesday, May 7, webinar will begin at 2 p.m. Eastern, and registration for the program is free. Registration can be found on ForResidentialPros.com, which can be accessed directly here
