The new GE high-efficiency topload washer features a large 5-cu.-ft. capacity and is about 60 percent more water efficient. It has no agitator to allow space for more clothes, and a higher spin speed allows more moisture to be expelled in the washer, saving energy in the dryer. SmartDispense stores up to a gallon of detergent and fabric softener, automatically dispensing for each wash, and Steam Assist helps loosen stains. A communication cable allows the washer to communicate with the dryer, so the dryer is automatically programmed based on the washer setting.
