Two-speed Hammer Drill

DeWalt’s  20-Volt MAX  lithium-ion system, includes a compact drill/driver,  a premium drill/driver, two impact drivers, a compact hammer drill,  a premium hammer drill , a reciprocating saw, a circular saw, an SDS rotary hammer, a right-angle drill (shown) and a work light . The system features compact and premium tools that offer 1.5 and 3.0 amp hour lithium-ion batteries which provide up to 35 percent more runtime versus other 18v lithium-ion tools.

Metabo’s BS18 LTX Quick drill/driver has a dual-range torque adjustment with a maximum running torque of 372 in.-lbs. and up to 850 in.-lbs. for momentary spikes in the event of extreme resistance. The cordless drill/driver offers a no-load speed of 0-400 rpm in first gear and 0-1,400 rpm in second gear. When paired with the Power X3, the torque is tripled and the speed is reduced to 0-133 rpm for maximum control and power.

Hitachi’s 18v lithium-ion brushless hammer drill and impact driver are powered by high capacity 3.0 Ah lithium-ion slide type batteries for fade free power, less weight and longer battery life than Ni-Cd batteries.  Managed by a micro-processor chip that delivers current flow to the motor, brushless tools experience up to 50 percent longer run time between charges, increased power, and extended durability with low maintenance, the manufacturer says. They feature optical trigger switches that communicate with the micro-processor and deliver smoother motor acceleration.

The Hilti TE 2-A18 Compact Rotary Hammer is lighter in weight, while the TE 2-A18 Rotary offers more run time. Both models have high-efficiency motors and are suited for drilling anchor or through holes in concrete, brick and block with an optimum drilling diameter range of 3/16 to 3/8 in. CPC battery technology protects the battery, switch and motor for increased durability and longer battery life. The tools feature a drop-resistant housing.

Makita USA Inc. has released its 12V max Lithium-Ion Cordless 2-Piece Combo Kit, model LCT208W. The combo kit features a 3 3/8-inch circular saw with a range of cutting capabilities and a compact 3/8-inch driver-drill that features two speed settings and 18 clutch stages.
