No roof penetrations are required to secure FusionSolar and no additional structural support is needed. Avancis PowerMax Solar Modules
Product From CertainTeed CorporationCertainTeed has expanded its portfolio of solar roofing products with the Avancis PowerMax photovoltaic modules that can be integrated into existing roof systems. The system is made of copper-indium-selenide solar technology. The black panels can be installed on roofing, curtain walls and canopies. The modules can generate electricity in partial shading.
The Apollo solar roofing system from CertainTeed Corp. features integrated polycrystalline solar panels. Each 12-lb. module features 14 high-efficiency polycrystalline silicon solar cells that absorb sunlight and converts it into electricity.
Advance Series and Performance Series thermal collectors
Product From Schuco USASchüco Solar USA has announced its Advance Series and Performance Series thermal collectors, which are lower in cost than their predecessor. Both use new absorber bonding technology that replaces soldering, allowing for better heat transfer and a smaller, lighter collector.
Cirrex solar-thermal water-heating systems
Product From A. O. SmithA.O. Smith Water Products Co. has expanded its line of Cirrex solar-thermal water-heating systems to 16 package systems with one, two and three solar-collector configurations. Cirrex solar heating systems are composed of roof-mounted solar thermal collectors and a storage tank. The panel heats up a heat transfer fluid, which is pumped to a heat exchanger to transfer the energy to the water in the storage tank.
EchoFirst Inc. has introduced its Echo solar system that generates electricity and can capture heat produced by the photovoltaic panels to heat water. The system includes mounting equipment, photovoltaic panels and an inverter, as well as a Web-based user interface to see how much energy the system is generating.
Sheffield Metals’ SOLR thin-film solar laminates are fused to the surface of the roofing panel substrate.
