Kleer designed KleerWrap Post Wraps to reduce installation time, while improving the appearance and durability of exterior posts. The installation process now consists of cutting the assembled wrap to desired length, wrapping around the post, applying Kleer cellular PVC adhesive to each joint of the wrap and snapping into place. These wraps, made from cellular PVC, are available in 4-, 6- and 8-in. sizes to wrap 4x4 and 6x6 posts. A 25-year limited lifetime transferrable residential warranty is included.
Kleer’s KleerLok beaded boards have a ship-lap nailing flange that increases installation speed. The boards can be used in soffit applications, porch ceilings or for wainscot applications in bathrooms, laundry rooms and other high-moisture areas. The beaded sheets are available in 1/2 in. by 4 ft. by 8 ft. and 1/2 in. by 4 ft. by 10 ft. panels.
Cellular PVC Trim and Mouldings
Product From Ply GemPly Gem has introduced a cellular PVC Trim and Mouldings line, which is designed to work with nearly any siding type. The line is available in a smooth or authentic wood grain finish and is resistant to dirt, rotting, cracking and warping. Because the line is manufactured with no cellulose, it also is resistant to insects, termites and other pests. The cut edges do not need to be sealed or caulked and include pre-notched profiles for installation with vinyl siding.
Versatex Trimboard has introduced two moulding profiles made from weather-resistant cellular PVC. The 8-in. crown moulding and a water-table profile are compatible with the existing field of the company’s exterior trim system. The 8-in. profile is 25 percent wider than the previous crown moulding options. The water table is an updated, maintenance-free version of a traditional moulding profile used to deflect rainfall and prevent seepage behind trim and siding.
Restoration Millwork cellular PVC square porch column wraps from CertainTeed Corp. slide around existing posts. The wraps are pre-cut, pre-mitered and pre-assembled to ensure quick application to existing load-bearing wood porch posts. They come in a smooth, natural white finish with two traditional cap and base trim set styles – classic and estate. Eight by 8-in. and 10- by 10-in. widths with a standard 9-ft. height are available.
Fypon’s PVC Column Wraps are semi-assembled, two-piece products that come in a complete kit with the cap, base, installation cleats and caulk adhesive. The external installation cleats never touch the center post. The PVC pieces, which wrap around pressure-treated wood posts or steel, resist rotting and do not attract insects. The non-structural wraps are available in plain, fluted, raised panel, double raised panel, recessed panel and tapered styles.

Installation requires ordinary carpentry skills, tools and fasteners. It is impervious to moisture and insect damage.
