The 2014 Ram ProMaster full-size van is based on the Fiat Ducato, which has been in production for more than 30 years. The ProMaster is available in two roof heights, three wheelbases, and four body lengths. Additionally, the ProMaster offers both a chassis cab and cutaway from the factory. It has a payload capacity up to 5,145 lbs. and a maximum towing capacity up to 5,100 lbs. The gross combined weight rating (GCWR) for the 3.6-liter V-6 is 11,500 lbs. and 12,500 lbs. for the 3.0-liter I-4 EcoDiesel.

Chevrolet’s 2014 Silverado 1500 features a family of three EcoTec3 engines, a V-6 and two V-8s. All three engines incorporate direct fuel injection, cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing. All three switch seamlessly to four-cylinder operation to improve efficiency during light load driving. Silverado 1500 crew cabs will be available with a longer 6 ft. 6 in. box, in addition to the previous 5 ft. box. A revised front and rear suspension and wider wheels provide a more comfortable ride and more confident handling.
Highway Products Inc.has introduced a new model of the Strongback Flatbed, which is made with marine-grade aluminum for more payloads and better fuel efficiency. The beds feature structural T6 extruded "C" channel side rails, 1/8-inch diamond plate decking, 4-inch-long sills and cross members on 12-inch centers. Rope hooks are spaced every 24 inches for easy tie-down. The flatbeds are available for Chevy, Dodge, Ford, Freightliner, GMC, International and other brands.
Chevrolet Express Cargo vans are available in regular 135-in. and extended 155-in. wheelbase lengths. The 1500 Series vans include light-duty models rated at 7,300 lbs. GVWR. The 2500 Series includes heavy-duty models rated at 8,600 lbs. GVWR. The heavy-duty 3500 Series includes full-bodied models rated at 9,600 lbs. GVWR with the 6.0L gas V-8 and 9,900 lbs. with the Duramax 6.6L diesel. Ford’s E-Series van can tow up to 10,000 pounds when properly equipped and payload tops out at 3,920 pounds. Three engine choices and three wheelbase options make it easy to match E-Series to workplace demands. The 2014 Tundra will have a grade strategy consisting of the SR, SR5, Limited, and two premium grades: Platinum and the 1794 Edition, a tribute to the ranch, founded in the year 1794, on which the Tundra plant is located in San Antonio. Tundra is offered in three cab styles: two-door regular cab, four-door double cab and four-door CrewMax, all available in 4x2 and 4x4. New features include a new blind spot monitor with rear cross traffice alert, a standard back-up camera (viewed from the audio display screen) and standard Bluetooth.
The 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 full-size pickup engine portfolio includes a 4.3L V6, a 5.3L V8 and a 6.2L V8. Each engine features standard direct injection, continuously variable valve timing and Active Fuel Management, which means they seamlessly switch to run on four cylinders during light-load driving to save fuel. On Extended Cab models, the Sierra has front-hinged rear doors with outside pull handles at the rear, providing improved access in tight parking spaces and allowing rear passengers to enter and exit the vehicle with the front doors remaining closed.
Ford’s 2014 compact Transit Connect cargo van is expected to achieve 30+ mpg on the highway with EcoBoost power. The Transit Connect offers customers a choice of two four-cylinder engines, two wheelbase lengths, two model series and an available CNG/LPG prep package. It also offers sliding side doors, side-hinged rear cargo doors, a choice of side and rear window configurations, and an estimated 1,600-pound payload. A full-size Transit van also is available.
